The Defenders Car Club was founded during the school year 1956-57 by about 10 Wellesley High School juniors. After a series of fund raisers and monthly dues we were able to rent a barn as our headquarters and auto shop. It was located off of Beechwood Rd. near Rte 9. The club grew to about 20 members before disbanding in 1960. The major internal project was to Build a Dragster and race it at the Sanford, ME Drag strip<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
